The academic year 2023–2024 was an important and enriching phase of my MBBS journey as I progressed into the second year at Aziz Fatima Medical and Dental College. This year deepened my understanding of medical sciences, with a stronger focus on the nervous system, internal organs, and their clinical relevance.

In this year, I studied advanced topics in Anatomy, including Neuroanatomy and the Abdomen. These subjects helped me explore the structure and relationships of internal organs and the central and peripheral nervous systems. Through models, diagrams, and cadaveric dissections, I developed a clearer spatial and clinical understanding of the human body, particularly the brain, spinal cord, and abdominal region.

In Physiology, I continued to expand my knowledge of how the body functions, focusing particularly on neurophysiology. I studied how nerve impulses are generated and transmitted, and how the nervous system regulates vital body functions, which provided essential insights into the body's coordination and control mechanisms.

One of the most impactful experiences of this year was my clinical exposure in the ENT ward at the hospital. Observing and participating in real-life clinical cases allowed me to see the application of classroom knowledge in a practical setting. It helped me develop early patient interaction skills, improve my communication, and understand the importance of empathy in clinical care.

This year also strengthened my ability to connect basic sciences with clinical practice, enhanced my critical thinking, and boosted my confidence as a future medical professional. It was a year of growth—both academically and personally—as I stepped closer toward becoming a competent and compassionate doctor.
